Ditto, on Sunday. Went from tolerable seat on 787 to intolerable on 767 to ...? when they switched back to 787 ... all within the OLCI window. Got some help and sympathy at BA Club, but ...

... as everyone notes above, this can and does happen.

Sometimes I think to myself that I spend too much time checking and re-checking reservations, but the truth is that if one flies a lot and one cares about where one sits -- I'm looking at myself, here -- then you have to anticipate the worst and be ready to hop into action to salvage something. Status does not seem to buy one out of this issue.
