Been to REP twice, staying in different hotels. The Victoria http://www.victoriaangkorhotel.com must have been one of the nicest hotels I've ever been to - anywhere in the world.

It's rather small, relaxed, and not completely overrun by group tours. And you can walk over to the Raffles for a few cocktails ^
