High Floor means something in a city (less noise), its totally irrelevant outside an urban setting. Every single HP I have stayed at recently has made this differential and as noted, staying on the 5th floor of a 7 story building versus the 6th or 7th story is f**** irrelevant and quite frankly rather insulting. The fact this is now becoming a standard feature at HPs makes me dislike that brand even more (the crap breakfast and .... coffee are bad enough)
Indeed. I've also noticed the HP's "High Floor" BS (usually $5, but I've seen $10 in other locations. These are all suburban HPs.
Agreed on the breakfast as well - the HGI certainly has that beat for me. I like the room size and other things, but it's stuff like this that really makes me unhappy. (currently HHonors Diamond, but not Hyatt, since it looks like I'll have to go through a lot of these HPs bs'ing along in my area)
