Depending on the time of the day it can be quicker to drop your bags at Domesitic. International your required to show ID, staff have you see boarding pass an sacan bags. We're at domestic you just walk up to the belt an put your bag on.
Shame, that must have changed since March, it was so easy coming out of customs I immediately saw the NZ check-in machines and bag drop, really helpful staff put me on an earlier flight, no waiting around, then a pleasant walk over to Domestic with just my hand luggage.
