Definitely no standalone lithium batteries in your checked luggage of a certain capacity:
http://content.emirates.com/download...4_FINAL_01.pdf. Some airports also do not allow battery packs/portable batteries of a certain capacity as hand luggage either.

This is mainly because lithium fires can't be effectively put out on planes.

You don't want an OZ991 or UPS6 situation where runaway fire of lithium batteries in the cargo hold caused fatal crashes!
