There's no reason a virtual card couldn't have all those member-specific details. And no one would force you to give up your physical card.

It often surprises me how little consideration is made by many not in the IT industry about how complex change is in a large environment.
What are you talking about? Every single lounge across the *A network already has access to the data associated with my physical card through its magnetic strip. And I'd be willing to bet they can all handle 2D bar codes, too, as most (all?) boarding passes have these codes. There's no reason a virtual card couldn't be implemented with minimal disruptions.
