Let me explain the change in title as I made it.

If the merger is to go ahead there will be dozens of threads created over the coming months about the merger. Some of these will contain facts and some will be speculation about what might happen - be that with the loyalty scheme, brand name, sale of hotels etc.

Lessons learned from the AA/US merger suggest that members secure most value when they know whether a thread is speculative or factual. This split served the Mods well in AA/US and is now an example of good moderation practise.

Clearly if the deal falls apart all of this will be irrelevant.
