We were then completely baffled by the TG international lounges at BKK (connecting onto TK) when we discovered that they serve wine in only one of the four or five TG lounges (the big one in D). The other international lounges serve beer, whiskey, even port and cognac, just no wine! We got our exercise walking from the E to D lounges (1.8 km round-trip) and were greeted with the brilliant enologic options of "red" and "white". Just makes no sense at all to have a rule like this. Any thoughts from those with more experience at BKK? By the way, we're now enjoying the Istanbul lounge, which truly lives up to its high billing!
If you really want beer then fly PG. They will serve on dom flights but it will set you back a whole 80 baht (IIRC) [cue Mr Bill face]. I generally have a couple in the Premier/Business lounge but don't bother on the plane because it will take 20 min just to get one after ordering it.
