OMG this 7-day limit is really in force at the moment. The website was showing award availabiity only 3 days ahead about a week ago, and that was for a transcon I was looking for. Now there are no award seats on OAK-LAX midweek mid-day flights that never sell out. The algorithm should have allocated many seats. With so few awards outstanding there's no reason to change the algorithm. In fact you could argue that at this point Southwest should just treat all awards as Freedom Awards and eliminate any need for phone support.

I suspect it's a database issue. Someone forgot to clear the advance purchase required flag for SA's (X Class) as opposed to discounted cash fare buckets.

If this isn't fixed soon I will ask Southwest what's going on. I'm not worried yet.
