I'm going on a 'round the world' trip next year, with flights booked individually (it worked out cheaper than a RTW ticket in the end).

In South America we are doing a lot of flying with *A (mainly Aviainca) and it would be good to try and get some value out of this. I appreciate that we're not going to make any status with economy fares but it would be good if we can get enough rewards for a flight or two while we're in the US or Canada. We should fly about 5,000 miles each, so 10,000 total between two of us.

Does anyone have any advice on which FF we should be joining?
