I must be one of the luckiest AA flyers that there is. My interface with working AA staff is about 98% positive. Last month an agent in the SAN AC failed to put me on the upgrade standby list. I missed the up, the gate agent was checking for me, that is when I found out I was not on the list. I say don't bother as we didn't think I had a chance. She was very helpful and had a great attitude as most agents, desk, phone, and gate seem to have towards me.
FA's go between busy and very helpful. I would say that they are in good mood and helpful at least 90% of the time. I don't know what everyone expects, but I think that is pretty good.
Last weekend I flew with a MD-80 captain. Great guy and fun to speak with for the ride to DFW. If I had been in the cabin with those AA employees I would have joined in as I find most casual and many frequent travelers very funny to watch.
Speaking of that I fly in first almost all the time. I say please and thank you to FA's and I get very surprised looks as most in the front are demanding and rude to FA's. If you don't believe me just watch and listen on your next few flights. Passengers are unbelievable.
I enjoy the AA employee that I interface with generally and want to thank them for their efforts.
