To be honest I don't think "IHG platinum" is really anything aspirational or worth the habit or checking in or checking out ten times this is coming from IHG Plat Ambassador.

If I got $3800 for accom and got to spend how I wanted, I would find an Airbnb for $50 a night and pocket $70 a night. That is worth more than IHG Plat.

Although I would definitely go get your two free IHG nights, first, as that is pretty valuable.
