Good points,
pointsgirl!
nologic, its hard to evaluate Orlando hotels. When we were there couple years back, I saw some properties which everywhere else would be considered "lower-end"; in Orlando, they were all-suites 12-15 story high gorgeous properties. I think hotel companies go all out when they build in Orlando, since demand is so high, and so are occupancy rates, I'm sure.
2 yrs ago we stayed in a new Holiday Inn Family Suites or smthng like that, at a supposedly very good rate of $129/night. We had 3 rooms (2BR), incl. TV, and Nintendo in kids' room. This was in July, and since we were playing at Disney Wide World of Sports, we stayed close to I-4 & parks, on International Dr. (it is wild!).
So, $70 a night, if you are not far from the parks, sounds like good deal.
