Infant on Indigo: Buy a separate seat?

Hi, we will be flying domestically in India in Dec with a 15 month old infant. While we could pay the "infant in lap" discounted fare, we'd prefer to have a seat to put the baby in, even if its just for a few minutes. Indigo rules do not allow a carry-on (such as a diaper bag) for the infant. And we have a suitcase of baby stuff that we'd like to check-in as well.

So we want to buy her a ticket. Given the craziness that I've experienced at checkin counters in the past, and the fact that this situation (buying a ticket when the infant can fly for "free") is likely not very common in India, I'm stressing out that the Indigo check-in staff in DEL will be confused and not allow her to check a bag in and take a carry-on item on board. How likely is it that they'll not understand the concept of an infant flying on a ticket and throw hurdles at us? I just don't want to deal with explaining that the baby is flying on her own ticket, and as such is entitled to check a bag and carry-on a personal item.
