I switched from UA to DL a year ago and haven't looked back. I've been very happy. And, despite the popular belief that there are no good SkyMiles redemptions available, my partner and I are going to Paris for New Year's Eve this year, on SkyMiles award tickets, in business class, for 106,000 miles round trip each. So, yeah, it is possible to get decent awards from DL.
