I can remember pmNW doing three flights 5 minutes apart between DTW-MSP ie 1515, 1520, and 1525 departure times. Sometimes two of them could be widebodies. Made for heck with passengers going to wrong gates and being turned away due to lack of space even on wide bodies.
The gates were often adjacent and sometimes we'd be on a trip to MSP (for example to see U of M keep the jug) and just play grab a flight on the way home....
of course that was a long time ago and Minn has only won that game 5 times in 48 years.
