Some good news on dimishing delays!:

U.S. flight delays have fallen 5 percent in the first six months of 2001, compared with the same period a year ago when records were set for air travel frustration, new figures showed Thursday.

"We have a good story to tell this summer," Federal Aviation Administrator Jane Garvey told an air traffic summit. "And this is exactly where we want the trend to go."

Agency statistics showed 197,840 delays for the January-June period in 2001 compared with 207,100 for the same period a year ago.

It's the economy "stupid!" Perhaps less folks, on fewer planes is playing a part in this!
