I have used it in early 2015 (and it was not staffed; one remains in the vehicle and speaks via a video/audio-connection with a CBSA officer at a remote location). But originally it was meant as a pilot project from May 2014 to May 2015.
I know it's no big deal to use the regular lanes late at night, but I liked the feature and even less hassle of the eGate lane.
I used this at the end of June, so it was still operating then. I'd never heard of it and was a bit startled!
