Charges for Inbound Voicemail Calls

Does anyone have any experience as to whether Tmobile is charging for incoming calls that go to voicemail while roaming? I know they have in the past, not sure they are still doing this.

I've always thought this is a charge that borders on fraudulent, as gsm carriers will sometimes charge for a round-trip - i.e., for the call to the country in which the customer is roaming, and then a call back to the voicemail. In reality, it is highly doubtful that the call is actually routed in that fashion - i.e, efficient network design would have the Tmobile switch in the US ring the phone in the roaming country and, when there is no answer, the Tmobile switch in the US would route the call directly to voicemail so the call path to the voicemail would not be through the roaming country. Under the scenario, there is no more use of the international network than there is for ringing a phone in a roaming country without voicemail.
