Suppose a DM didn't want to pay the additional money for a SC Executive Membership. Would it be OK to get DL to print someone else's name onto the SC membership card, so that effectively the DM gifted a regular membership to that person while the DM retains the right to potentially enter SCs based on something like "DM/SC member" printed on the boarding pass?
No, in your example they are clearly "double-dipping" on the benefit. Someone else is using the SC card and the DM is also accessing with other credentials. In OPs case only one of them would be able to use the benefit (whether it's the name on the card or the name that comes up on the agent's screen remains to be seen). If OP has the single Plat card in his possession then his wife has no credential to enter the SC.
Like I said, a little sneaky to get the bonus and have the benefits used by someone else but since AMEX issued the card that way it seems OP can at least attempt it.
