one failing of the current layout IMHO is that there is too much land-side space in the departures level. I imagine the design was finalised before OLCI became dominant, but it leaves not enough space for the security lines.

Ideally, they would move the security line forward, but I don't imagine that would be early given the location of a baggage conveyors.
