Anyone that takes this board for granted wrt insurance coverage is a fool.

Might as well travel without insurance.

If it's general curiosity, then sure, this place is a good place to discuss it.

If someone already has a booking made or is about to book something, they should contact VISA and ask for the number of the insurer the CC is affiliated with. They have the real answers.

Don't even waste time talking to TD reps.

Last thing someone needs is to be stuck in an a foreign country after an accident without insurance because someone on an anonymous board said "you'll be fine".

Calling the insurer directly allows you to get the correct answers to your questions, AND a confirmation number that leads to a recording of your call so that you have recourse if you were given inaccurate information.
