Not in Europe, in the US it is very common that kids take over the club lounges. It also more common to take drinks and food to your room in the US in comparison to Europe. Quite often, you find signs asking you to consume food in the lounge only, again more often the case in Europe.
I conducted dozens of meetings in club lounges over the years, usually between the breakfast and dinner hours, when the lounges are quiet, even with people who did not stay at the hotel, i.e. at the Sheraton FRA, which has a lounge perfectly suited for such meetings.
