An Australian citizen cannot be refused entry into Australia. You could turn up with no documents and you would be allowed in. Just there will be a delay (how long is the question) while they verify your citizenship status. And possibly also get a dressing down for obtaining an ESTA to which you were not entitled (don't know what the penalty, if any, there is for that).
