AA may have the support of DOT in cancelling mistake fares.

I don't see how this translates into allowing "holds" to be at AA's discretion. A "hold that AA is free to cancel" is not a "hold" in my world.

Since they treated holds entirely different from ticketed bookings, IMO, AA should be fined big time. Not for cancelling mistakes, but for violation of the hold/24 hour cancellation rules.
