Starbucks Cards activated in any of the participating countries can be used to make purchases and be reloaded in any other participating country. Starbucks Cards must first be activated by loading money onto the card in the country of purchase before being used internationally. The participating countries are; UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Mexico, and the Republic of Ireland.
Successfully pulled off a impromptu Cappuccino purchase at Starbucks Charing Cross Road. I pulled out my Mastercard only to remember this is one of the few chances I can charge my Starbucks card outside of HK.
Only forgot two things:
1. I forgot to take down the pre-debit value but judging from the cents left in my card (I had a round number of HK$ pre-purchase) I believe the exchange rate was $11.87 when Yahoo Finance was showing $11.89;
2. I forgot to try the app first and pulled out my long-forgotten magstripe card from my travel wallet. The app could've been read - the barista subsequent read off the balance of my card from my app. Omitted to earn Starbucks Rewards.
