Nope, I was informed, the corner of the license was clipped and was thus INVALID to use to board the plane.
I made my consternation known to the TSO, as I informed her that it had been expired only for a couple of weeks, and I wasn't there to drive a car or FLY the plane. She made me produce a second form of ID (as it so happens, I had my SS card with me for some reason, which she informed me was legitimate means to prove who I was) if I were to be allowed to board.
A SS card as a second form of ID? Really?
Wow.
