If you can wait until your next trip outside the U.S., I would strongly advise you to do so. As 2 Many Miles indicated, it's much, much easier to do this at a U.S. Embassy or consular section. I've done this in Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok and have never had to wait (no lines, process takes a few seconds).
