I called up AA and the agent said all they would do is "try" and find me a later departure that day, that because it's non-refundable there be no refund yada yada
I know for a fact (as it's happened to me many times) that if I had a BA itinerary with AA sectors and one of the AA ones got changed, then BA would freely change the time/routing (within limits) or give me a full refund for the whole trip, even on an I class sale fare...
I also know that AA is not BA, but it would be great if the kind AA experts on here could please advise me of my options - do I have to accept a retime, or can I push for a refund ?
Thanks !
You were given a load of absolute rubbish.
You are entitled to a full, unquestioned refund - your change is way past the required minimums (iirc, 120 minutes). You can also look for the more suitable alternatives and call to get yourself changed without fees; it's likely you will be accommodated, as one option is you could demand a refund and find more suitable connections on a competing airline @:-).
I see
