I can confirm Cathay Pacific does compensate for taxi fares. Well Dragonair did - this was in August.

I had a 9.30pm TPE-HKG flight pushed to 11.30pm take-off and just missed the last Airport Express as we disembarked at 12.40am.

Explanation was air traffic control restrictions at PVG, the airframe's previous trip, delaying arrival into HKG and subsequent departure to TPE to pick us up.

I got fully reimbursed for HK$340 from Airport to Causeway Bay. I kept the taxi receipt (very important).

Ultimatum was: gratuity flight vouchers or reimburse taxi fare. I got the latter.
