(2) definitely didn't happen at Coyote/Greyhound. After the Rainbow do we know we can have merchants reprint the slips but that is only required if merchant claims s/he made currency selection.

Also at Tsui Hwa, I've seen machines printing out only the slips with HKD amount. It's like DCC is disabled by default on those machines. They print out carbon copies as well.
Not all Tsui Wah locations have full charge. Cannon Street has a full terminal. Mongkok argyle street has contactless only. Central takes no card (but it's renovating so they may put one in when it reopens).
