OZ is a country known for trickery in my experience! Is this worth paying that much for occasional travel - I might travel twice in a 10yr period - I might go on US passport and ETA might cost me $15? I heard of dual citizens got ETA approved.
Last time the fee increase was in March 2014 to US $218.
2) A 17yr old dual citizen accompanying me has passport expiring in about 6 months from the travel date. The link below states no 6 month rule:

You can always renounce your Australian citizenship and travel exclusively on the US passport or time your trips to Australia so that you can renew in Australia at any Post Office.
