Factory nav units are very hard to find. Even testing them out at dealers won't do you any good because they are optional packages, and rental agencies often do not buy these optional packages. This is why the list I posted can be used as a reference guide.
I would be getting the rental car for three days, although I wouldn't have to "invest" anything since I already have the Garmin unit already (it has lifetime updates for the US, so even that wouldn't be a problem).
With car rental companies that share fleets (like National/Enterprise/Alamo), am I better off with renting from one of them specifically, or just go with whoever is cheapest?
