US citizen renewing OZ passport?
1) According to this link below, as US currency become more valued, OZ introduced another form of fee, called surcharge at US$70 - am I missing something?:

OZ is a country known for trickery in my experience! Is this worth paying that much for occasional travel - I might travel twice in a 10yr period - I might go on US passport and ETA might cost me $15? I heard of dual citizens got ETA approved.

Last time the fee increase was in March 2014 to US $218.

2) A 17yr old dual citizen accompanying me has passport expiring in about 6 months from the travel date. The link below states no 6 month rule:

Any practical tips?
