You're unlikely to get an op-up as a partner OW Emerald (OW Sapphire even lower). Yes, it is possible. Yes, we get anecdotes on here. I know folks - even an AA Platinum - who scored one recently to JFK. But is it common? No. They are the exception, not the rule. And I think the trend is towards less, not more partner op-ups in the last 5 years. CX is quite good about prioritizing both its Golds and Diamonds (OW Sapphire and OW Emerald) ahead of partner OWEs. I also have recent anecdotes whereby ID staff have leapfrogged OWEs and to get an J-F op-up. While I don't know how common it is - and technically this breaks the unofficial hierarchy we discuss on here, whereby ID travelers are supposed to be behind partner OWEs - I am privy to this occurring in recent months. Both Y to J (bypassing PEY) and J to F, with OW partners not being upgraded.

Soo...long story short, I would bag the miles and not hope for the op-up...if this is indeed what you're asking. Otherwise, please clarify!
