When I looked at this for my trip in a couple months, the only codeshare NZ flights available were on full-fare Y class...so if you really want the UA miles, I would suggest flying to SYD and doing SYD-AKL (or to WLG, CHC, etc.). Otherwise, you will need to book through NZ to get the cheaper fare, but you won't get any PQD.
