Newcastle Airport Closed
So sitting on my flight to Newcastle nearly an hour after it was supposed to take off as apparent Newcastle Airport is shut.
So in their infinite wisdom BA have decided that instead of cancelling the flight and putting us on a later flight they're going to fly us to Teesside and then put us on coaches to Newcastle Airport.
The delay I can understand but why do they feel the need to torture all the passengers by adding what will almost certainly be up to an additional 3 hours travel time.
What a nightmare.
I have even asked to be put on a later flight and have been told that it's not possible which means that they are too tight to A. pay for my accommodation B. Pay to have my bags removed as this will have additional cost. Apparently being a gold member only counts for so much.
So what we're learning here is that while customer service is meant to be a priority for BA, there are limits to what they will do.
