US-bound additional security is mandated by the US but is conducted by the local authorities. Secondary security for US flights isn't technically part of preclearance, since it happens at
all non-US airports with flights to the US, not specifically AUH. However, it makes sense to do both of them together before you enter the separate US-bound flights area.
