I agree with the taxi route,I have always used this in the past and have found it excellent. I have however always had the hotel address written down and gone to the taxi rank where I was pointed in the direction of the first available free 'cab'.|

There used to be a problem with touts prior to the taxi rank.

Be aware that access to the terminal is only via security gates with x-ray so if travelling in a group and one goes off to find the rank they will have to come back in via the security check.

The 'new' airport is very clean and efficient.

In passing for those of you travelling from the US via London (or elsewhere) the visa desk will accept a £10 (Ten Pounds) Sterling note as well as dollars. At the current abysmal exchange rate this may give some slight cost saving. No small change is acceptable in either currency.
