Hi! I need some help with a choice to make
I will travel to CPT from LHR with a transfer in JNB.
The LHR-JNB is in club world on BA55, arrival time : 07:10 AM.
The JNB-CPT flight is on BA/COMAIR in domestic club. Flights are on separate PNR.
I firstly intended to fly JNB/CPT on BA 6409, departure time 10:40 am which was a good compromised to allow a smooth transfer and a eventual visit in the lounge.
This second flight is cancelled. BA put me on the previous one with a departure time at 08:55.
According to the Wiki, 1h45 should be enough for the transfer…but having 2 different PNR, I am not sure that "should" is enough for me. I don't want to spend the 11 hours of the first flight fearing a missed connection.
The other possibility is to ask for a rebooking on the next flight to CPT which departure at 12:50.
What would you do : taking the risk and run in the airport, or taking the risk to get bored in an airport during 5h30!
An other question regarding the lounge : if I have time to kill, is there an arrival lounge in JNB that I could visit before getting through customs/immigration, and visiting next the SLOW lounge in domestic terminal so that I can split the time to spend. I read on the SLOW website that there is a limit of 90 minutes before departure time to be allowed to get into the lounge…that confuses me a bit (maybe isn't it applicable on connecting passengers). Don't really wish neither to spend 4h in the public areas before being able to enjoy the lounge for only 90 minutes!
Any advice? Thanks!
