Mrs. dwcatty and I have a LIFO itinerary CLT/SFO//OGG coming up. Our overnight layover is 11:40 long and we are staying at the SFO DT overnight. We are flying AA metal CLT/SFO and HA metal SFO/OGG. Since this is a vacation all I will have in my checked luggage is shorts, sandals and Hawaiian shirts, so I'm not overly stressed about pilferage. The good stuff will be in my overnight/carry on. We are also flying in F, if that matters.

In this scenario 'd just as soon check the bags all the way through rather than pick them up at the carousel, schlep them to the hotel and back and recheck them in the morning. We'll be 16 days on island, and shopping for new clothes at AA's expense if the bags disappear would simply be a new adventure. Will checking them through be an option?
