That really is brutal customer service by the lounge agent and for the OP's father I can see it being a disappointment. But to be perfectly honest although I used to use the YYZ Intl MLL a lot I tried it just last week on an OS flight to see if it had improved and I was out of there in 15 minutes. I prefer to just buy a decent beer in the terminal and then also be able to actually get a seat in a quiet gate area with a view of the outside.
