Haha, oh god no. Don't give me such scares! I don't really want to refer to my children as "hen".
Lack of award seat is a common problem for all airlines, if you want to fly a particular date on a particular route in a particular class, then of course there is a chance that you can't get an award seat - in particular last minute bookings. If you are looking at other forums here at FT, you'll see FTers frequently talking about when the award availability opens.
I know, but it doesn't help that a little spending on a random Swedish credit card gets you free award seats in C when traveling with someone who racked up EB points by buying bulk toilet paper in Coop ...
Also if you are correct that everyone can get a card and get free C tickets then it shouldn't hit the ex-CPH flights which I believe that you are interested in.
The combined Øresundsregion has 3.7 mio. inhabitants, of which just 2.5 are on the Danish side. There aren't a lot more Swedes close to ARN than to CPH (also, at least half the retail staff in CPH has a lovely skånsk dialect - I truly find it endearing, no sarcasm).
BTW, it's not true that they can just get an AMEX and a free ticket will fly into their accounts. Otherwise Mr. will have one too

There were requirements that you spent 100k on that card annually to get a free C ticket. 100k is a lot of money.
100K Swedish is a month's rent in Denmark + change for coffee.

Kidding. But seriously, that's 80.000DKK. Not that hard to spend.
