Starting with the summer 2016 schedule, Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa will increase their flight service to Tehran. Eurowings will also start flying to Iran's capital.
Andreas Otto, CCO of the Austrian Airline Group, sees the increase in flight capacity from Vienna to Tehran as a signal of the improving economic connections between Austria and Iran. From March 11, 2016 Austrian Airlines will offer an additional daily flight from Vienna to Tehran, meaning the Airline’s flights to the Iranian capital will take off up to twice a day. The flights to Iran are undertaken with an Airbus from the 320 family and can be booked starting today.
From March 26, Lufthansa – which will be celebrating `60 years of Tehran sevice´ next year, and currently offers a daily flight from Frankfurt to Tehran with a Boeing B747-400 – will increase its service with three weekly Munich-Tehran flights.
