improved policy for "Late payment = points forfeited"? (30 day grace period)

I had a late payment on SPG biz and was told by chat rep that points are NOT forfeited unless payment is 30 days late. I seem to recall previous that any late payment forfeited the pts earned in that period.

I had another late payment on the personal Plat (because stupid autopay doesn't kick in until 2nd stmt). Was told also no points would be forfeited.

I did ask him to double check and he found the same answer.

Is he right or just another clueless agent? Any recent data point?
