Based on your post, I would look at the Sandals or Couples resorts in the Caribbean, which will have more couples. It may not be true luxury, but it'll hit your budget market and you can have lots of fun.

For a true luxury resort with all the food and booze included, I would budget $2,000 a night. Some places would be more and some a little less.

Don't get too hung up on private pools, and the quality of AI. Just pick somewhere that you'll have fun, otherwise you're going to drive yourself crazy trying to hit that budget.

Since you're Dulles, you can try Punta Cana or Costa Rica. Those would be my go-to places for something that doesn't break the bank.

If you're willing to spend $1500 (1000 + 500 food) a night, you'll find this forum to be very helpful, especially if you want to avoid families. Also look at Cancun.

But SE Asia, Hawaii, most of Carib and no families. You're probably out of luck. You may find Tahiti to be less family friendly, but honestly, it's pretty lame seeing a bunch of honeymooners besides you... half of whom were stressed to the max. I remember thinking "future divorce, there's a divorce in the making, etc..." so don't get too worried about some of the conventional wisdom you may hear.
