We're coming into ORD in JL F, so I'm considering just buying a refundable AA ticket for her somewhere so we can both use the FL while I wait for my DCA flight and she waits for the DL flight to MSP. (Both connections are ~4 hours.) However, if we can both use the AC based on my Prestige card alone, I might not hassle with the ticket. (Cue telling me how much better the FL is.)
There is no need for the guest to be on AA - at least based on my experience in Denver, where twice I have had guests flying on SW. In fact the experience was excellent as my guest was not TSA-Pre and so I was in the club long before my guest, but I told the desk agent her name and that she was flying SW and they welcomed her straight in (she thought it was fantastic that they knew she was coming) and she wandered around and found me.
