you're right plus you're at the mercy of USPS unreliable delivery these days. Unless you're willing to send the MO to bank via certified mail that requires signature (check the postage for that) so in case they tell depositor they didn't receive it, they have proof. Otherwise,with no proof of delivery, you now have to deal with either MG or WU.
With a personal check that gets MIA, you can just call your bank after a certain time and your check doesn't show up; most banks don't even charge for lost in the mail checks. If the CCC received it, you'll see it in your bank statement.
