Try Six Senses Yao Noi in Phuket - especially if you do 5 nights there. It's over budget, but worth the splurge and it won't break your bank. They have good rates for 5 and 7 nights I believe.
It's also a Virtuoso hotel with good benefits.
Doubt you will find something for 500 US$. I made the experience that Virtuoso is not the best bet with Thailand. Often you get it much cheaper via Thomas Cook etc. Not sure if itīs possible in the US.
