Might also make more sense when new folks understand that the "miles" earned are NOT miles. They have NOTHING to do with earning miles, and never did. This is a blatant marketing misrepresentation.
They are simply points earned that can be redeemed ONLY against travel related expenses. They are worth exactly 1 cent per point earned. So they are points earned that have quite restrictive redemption compared to points earned with other cards like the BofA cash rewards and others that can be redeemed freely once minimum points level has been reached. First Tech has min $10. Many others have min $25. New rules for this card have min $100 travel purchase redemption (except non-fee card which remains at $25 - at least for now?)!
